Ragnar Bengtström

Ragnar Bengtström (b. 1941) has worked as a writing actor at DuvTeatern since 2012. He made his acting debut in the poetry performance Den Brinnande Vargen (DuvTeatern & Klockriketeatern, 2014) and his literary debut in the poetry anthology Den Brinnande Vargen – Dikter från DuvTeatern (Schildts & Söderströms, 2015). Bengtström’s poetry was also featured in the poetic tea gathering Jag kommer ihåg ett vitt rum (DuvTeatern, 2025).

The festival’s poetry performance, Ut genom väggen! (Out Through the Wall!), opens a door into the world of the poet and actor Ragnar Bengtström. With sharp humor and a tender presence, his poems explore the beauty, sorrow, and absurdity of life, nature as a sustaining life force, and Bengtström’s deep love for poetry and theatre. Words and music are seamlessly interwoven as Bengtström performs his texts alongside reciter and text editor Sanna Huldén, accompanied by Elina Mattila’s cello. The performance is directed by Mikaela Hasán.

Ut genom väggen! is a co-production between DuvTeatern and Wegelius Kammarstråkar, which premiered at Luckan in Helsinki on February 28, 2026. The event lasts approximately 45 minutes, encompassing the performance and a subsequent discussion. The performance is in Swedish with Finnish subtitles and includes basic audio description.

Curators’ comments: ”The world of the performance exudes beauty, warmth, humor, and dignity. Its touching premise inspires hope and speaks to the power of art and a deep love for it. It is never too late to mend what has happened in the past.”
