Apply to be an artist for the 2024 Outsider Art Festival! Outsider Art Festival invites all artists working in the field of outsider art to join us for the fifth edition of the festival. OAF will take place in August 2024 as part of the Helsinki Festival.
Open call for the 2024 festival will be open from 1 November to 30 November 2023. You can apply in the categories of visual arts, music, film, performing arts and literature. All outsider artists living in Finland are eligible to apply. You can apply in one or more artistic fields. Decisions will be announced in March 2024 and the festival programme will be published in April 2024.
Artists from outside Finland can also apply for OAF’s international Residency Program!
In addition to these, the Open Call now also gives you the opportunity to apply or propose an artist to OAF Academy! OAF Academy is a new arts program that supports the employment of outsider artists in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, music, film, literature and media arts. Between 2023 and 2025, OAF Academy will provide six artists with a 6-month work period, a €15 000 grant and the support of a mentor and a program coordinator. The program is intended for outsider artists that are active in Finland.
