OAF Academy is Outsider Art Festival’s new art program that supports the employment of outsider artists in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, music, film, literature and media arts. You can either apply yourself or suggest an artist you think would be a good fit for the program.
OAF Academy’s theme is power, and the program is looking for artists from the Finnish outsider art scene who have specific skills, experience or vision related to the programme’s theme, and the ability to work on a project for 6 months, either independently or with support.
Those selected for the program will be offered a 6-month working period, a grant of 15 000 € and the support of a mentor and the coordinator of the program. The works will be presented as part of the Outsider Art Festival programme in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The program is produced by Pertin Valinta and funded by the Kone Foundation.
