Outsider Art Festival will take over Helsinki from 19 to 22 August and invites everyone to celebrate cultural equality! OAF gives voice to the outsider artists by presenting a vibrant collection of music, visual arts, performing arts, films, and life stories. OAF is a partner festival of Helsinki Festival.

OAF venue partners are Oodi Helsinki Central Library, HAM Helsinki Art Museum, G Livelab Helsinki, Musiikkitalo Music Center, Kansalaistori Square, Klaus K, Pertti’s Choice and Mad House Helsinki.
Oodi Helsinki Central Library
Oodi is an open and equal living room for all citizens at Kansalaistori square, at the heart of Helsinki. OAF feels like at home in Oodi.

HAM Helsinki Art Museum
HAM is belongs to the people of Helsinki and includes over 9,000 works of art. Almost half of these works are on display in parks, streets, offices, health centres, schools and libraries, to brighten up everyone’s day. OAF takes over the Tennis palace surroundings spreading anarchy to the traditional palace.
G Livelab Helsinki
G Livelab focuses on high quality performances beyond expectations. G Livelab is a gem in Punavuori area that creates a special environment for experiencing OAF musical microcosm in good company.

Helsinki Music Centre
At the Music Centre’s Klubi, OAF audience is enlightened by an Open Stage full of interesting discussions, performances and catering.

Kansalaistori is a new square and lawn area in the heart of the city located between the Music Centre and Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma along Mannerheimintie. At Kansalaistori Square, OAF audience can enjoy a dance performance with Vanaja Women’s Prisoners and DiskoBoxi installation.

Hotel Klaus K
Klaus K is OAF’s official accommodation partner. Klaus K accommodation, roof top terrace and lounge area serve as a wonderful home base, to meet festival guides, artists and friends in atmospheric settings. Our artists deserve only the best.

Pertti’s Choice (Pertin Valinta)
OAF art sale will be held in Pertti’s Choice Shop and Gallery space next to Hakaniemi Market Square. A collection of curated art works and products from OAF artists is available for purchase at the shop. You might also meet the shop owners, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät band members and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.

Mad House Helsinki
Mad House Helsinki is located at Teurastamo area. Mad House is committed to transparency and equality and offers the perfect settings for OAF’s performing arts show case event. Mad House promotes and produces live art and other experimental performing arts. At Mad House, art and community comes first.

Klaus K is OAF’s official accommodation partner. Klaus K promotes True Equality by offering beautiful setting for OAF artists, audience and cultural travellers to meet and connect. The hotel is also home to the festival’s second information desk.

Outsider Art Festival is committed to promoting equal access and creating a safe experience for all visitors. Everyone is welcome to celebrate cultural equality!
Inclusion and equality have been key elements in designing the festival concept, production and program. OAF aims at creating inclusive festival production and curating models, that enable the engagement of people with disabilities in planning, designing and executing the festival experience. Accessibility has been considered in every phase of the festival production from planning to execution and implemented together with people with disabilities and from different backgrounds.
Every venue of the festival is accessible with a wheelchair. Assistants can join the events for free by assistant card (“saattajakortti”) granted by the municipality. Please note that for events requiring pre-registration, the assisted person must also register.
