Outsider Art Festival will take over Helsinki 17.-27.8.2023 and invites everyone to celebrate equality! OAF gives voice to the outsider artists by presenting a vibrant collection of music, visual arts, literature, performing arts, films, and life stories. OAF is a partner festival of Helsinki Festival.

Festival venues
Outsider Art Festival is held in Helsinki.
The group exhibitions of OAF visual arts program are held in HAM Helsinki Art Museum and in Pertin Valinta Gallery.
OAF literature program is held at OAF Stage at Espa Stage during Helsinki day 12.6. and at Festival Opening event at the National Museum. You can also hear the texts of the artists of the OAF literature program at Pertin Valinnat radio show in Radio Helsinki during the festival.
OAF music program is held at the National Museum, the Huvila tent of the Helsinki Festival, G Livelab and Semifinal.
The locations for the events of OAF performance art program will be announced at a later date.
OAF movie program screenings will he held at Kino Regina at the Helsinki Central Library Oodi. Screenings will also be held at the Opening event at the National Museum. You can also watch the movies at OAF Online Stage from our website.
True Equality parties and OAF Opening event will be held at the National Museum.

Outsider Art Festival is committed to promoting equal access and creating a safe experience for all visitors. Everyone is welcome to celebrate cultural equality!
Inclusion and equality have been key elements in designing the festival concept, production and program. OAF aims at creating inclusive festival production and curating models, that enable the engagement of people with disabilities in planning, designing and executing the festival experience. Accessibility has been considered in every phase of the festival production from planning to execution and implemented together with people with disabilities and from different backgrounds.
Every venue of the festival is accessible with a wheelchair except for Semifinal which doesn’t have an entrance without stairs (read more here). Assistants can join the events for free by assistant card (“saattajakortti”) granted by the municipality. Please note that for events requiring pre-registration, the assisted person must also register.
