What has happened during the history of Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät, a punk band who made over 300 gigs. PKN 10 year Jubilee exhibition brings the story of the band to life.
Do it yourself -attitude has carried out the band throughout the years. The band members Kari Aalto, Pertti Kurikka, Sami Helle and Toni Välitalo had gigs in 16 different countries and even participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. The idea for the exhibition came from the band members themselves.
The exhibition consists of memorabilia collected from the band members’ own archives. Photos from the tours, album cover originals, instruments, letters, setlists, festival passes.
The audience gets to experience the archives from unprecedented home videos to live footage. Exquisite trip to the world of PKN is presented by Visual Player created by Antti Kuivalainen.
The exhibition is curated by co-operative Creat osk in collaboration with Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät and Pertti’s Choice. Technical execution of the Visual Player is made possible by Studiotec Oy.
