Tomorrow we celebrate May Day, International Workers’ Day. The aim of Pertti’s Choice and Outsider Art Festival is to support employment of individuals from marginalised groups. Pertti’s Choice and Outsider Art Festival are improving the worklife to a more inclusive one. Meaning equal and indiscriminatory and involving everyone. All of us have an equal right to work.
To celebrate May Day we get to know what happens during the work day of Miika Turunen. Miika is a music journalist who has hosted Pertin Valinnat, a weekly radio programme since 2021.
Miika’s work day starts in the morning from Pertti’s Choice with his co-host Onni Pohjanpalo. They plan the programme of the day, talk about who to invite as guests and rehearse commercials. When they are done with planning they head to the Radio Helsinki studio and prepare for the hour long live broadcast.
