Olli Huusko describes himself as a 29-year-old HFA (High Functioning Autism) young adult who is highly musically gifted and also excels at performing and voice acting. He makes music under the name Kantele Guy and has participated in the fan-dubbing YouTube channel Studio Fanitus. Huusko enjoys performing and entertaining people. He dreams of achieving celebrity status so that he can influence others and be remembered.
At the Outsider Art Festival, Huusko will perform a monologue titled Lapsuuteni ilot (“The Joys of My Childhood”). “Through this monologue, I want to share the special joys of my childhood. I believe many others also miss these childhood pleasures with a certain wistfulness. I created this monologue at the Autism Foundation in Vallila and performed it once with Teatteriryhmä Vautsi for the Autism Foundation’s community. I hope my monologue will awaken in people that sense of childhood joy and longing, which I myself miss a bit in my adult life. I hope you enjoy it,” Huusko says, describing his upcoming performance.
Curators’ Comments: “Huusko writes wonderful, sharply focused prose snapshots. His writing constructs the world word by word, weaving a lived reality. The world of autism is cross-illuminated by the external reality.”
