OAF places a special emphasis on event accessibility. OAF has an inclusive strategy, and the program is curated inclusively through a collaboration between art field insiders and outsiders. OAF gives a voice to outsider artists from various fields of art. Through an open call, we have artists participating from all over Finland as well as abroad.
Event accessibility is important to us – which is why the events are produced by a diverse team. Our venue partners are highly committed to event accessibility through their physical spaces, communication, and safer space principles.
The most important aspect of accessibility for OAF is that everyone gets to be involved in creating the events. We don’t just ask for people’s opinions; they get to make a real impact on how the entire event industry operates.
You can contact the OAF team with any accessibility questions. More information can be found on our website under the “Festival Audience” section on the Festival page.
We are delighted to collaborate with the Threshold Association to develop more sustainable events. Read the interview with OAF curator & communications officer at the Threshold Association Sanni Purhonen on the Espoo.fi blog, where you can also find Sanni’s top picks for the OAF program.
