Veronica de Mannor

Veronica de Mannor

Veronica de Mannor is a self-taught young artist from Lohja who has explored various artistic fields throughout her life, including years as a dancer. After being diagnosed with PTSD, she shifted her focus primarily to visual art and photography, leaving other artistic pursuits behind. She often works with acrylics and mixed media but does not wish to confine herself to a single art form. She expresses a keen interest in fashion, performance art, and poetry as future creative avenues.

Regarding her works featured at the festival, de Mannor states: “In my art, I often explore emotions in their most primal forms, taking them on a journey where feelings and thoughts evolve into something more reflective. Symbolism plays a crucial role in my work, and I often think of my paintings as a form of poetry — abstract, real, and boundless. Strong contrasts, colors, and elements find a way to exist in harmony. I draw deeply from my own most difficult experiences, which is reflected in the fusion of darkness and beauty in my art. While I often leave my works open to interpretation, some pieces also serve as direct statements.”

Curators’ Comments: “Veronica De Mannor presents both beauty and darkness in a single package — and evokes a wide range of emotions. While the works are very personal to the artist, they are sure to resonate with every viewer.”
