Veikko Pohjalainen describes himself as an “art eccentric” who began practicing living art as soon as he learned to walk. Over the years, he has gathered experience in acting, spoken word poetry, rap, dance, writing, and spontaneous performances. Pohjalainen resonates with both suburban streets and universal citizenship.
At the Outsider Art Festival, Pohjalainen takes the stage as a prophet of metaphysical and playful rhymes and poems. He presents a poetry collection called “Viimein eheä” (“Finally Whole”), whose texts carry a touch of eternity. “After years of scattered whispers of the heart, they are finally brought together,” Pohjalainen describes the upcoming work.
Curators’ Comments: “Pohjalainen absolutely must be included! He is a truly remarkable writer of personal texts, with a wonderful ability to see beauty around him precisely when there is nothing but darkness.”
