The opening of OAF 2025 will be celebrated on the Night of the Arts 14.8.2025 over the old Elanto’s Leipätehdas block (bread factory) at Cultural Centre Caisa and the House of Text! On the opening weekend, Leipätehdas will be the venue for an experiential event, a collaboration between Outsider Art Festival, Cultural Centre Caisa and the House of Text.
At Caisa, you can see an outsider art exhibition, various performances and music acts and an installation combining ceramic sculptures and noise. At The House of Text, OAF will organize a poetry stage together with the publisher WSOY.
Opening Program at Cultural Centre Caisa:
3.00 PM – 3.45 PM Opening of the group exhibition at Caisa’s gallery.
The theme for the group exhibition showcasing the latest currents of outsider art is Future. The exhibition will remain open all evening and continues until Saturday 23rd of August.
4.00 PM – 9.00 PM Ksenia Voy Kheninen & Zherbin – Plants -installation in Caisa’s backstage area.
The installation of the artist duo, Plants is an artificial sounding garder, which combines noise and sculptures. Installation can be experienced also on Friday 15th of August from 4.00 PM to 9.00 PM.
6.00 PM – 8.00 PM RÄKÄlicious, Jussi P Niinku Pekka & Vähäsähkö, Milla Heart -concert at Caisa Hall.
The musical offerings include dreamy pop oozing of positivity, performative pop-punk emphasizing queer experience and aivofolk which is experimental combination of folk, noise and ambience.
Throughout the evening, there will be performances by OAF performance art artists Pekka Luodeslampi and LIPGLOSSBOY.
Opening Program at the House of Text:
8.15 PM – 10.00 PM: OAF Poetry Stage at Permantosali.
A joint poetry stage by OAF and WSOY, exploring what “literature beyond literature” could mean. At Poetry Stage artists from the OAF literature program read their own texts to the audience.
All Night of the Arts events are free of charge.
