Otto Kasvio is a versatile artist who has lately been working with acrylic painting and drypoint printmaking. He graduated as a visual artisan from the Kaarisilta Art and Activity Center in 2014 and has since worked at the Autism Foundation Finland’s Vallila Art Studio for guidance and training services. Otto has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions over the years, beginning in childhood.
Kasvio draws great inspiration from cats and Japan. His works often feature a graphic style with intriguing repetitive motives. At the festival, Kasvio will present the cat-themed acrylic paintings “Misrm Cats” and “Nippon Neko,” as well as the graphic works “Levahtanut raja,” “Lohikissat tervehtii Thevre,” and “PörriPörri ja kukka.”
Curators’ comments: “Kasvio’s painting style is lively and colorful, yet the water-acrylic technique gives it a delicate touch. Otto’s works truly deserve to be showcased!”
