Welcome to the asemic poetry workshop at the House of Text! Outsider Art Festival and Nihil Interit co-organize a workshop to make asemic and visual poems using different methods.
Asemic writing is a form of visual poetry that emphasises the physical gesture of writing as a vehicle for emotions and experiences, rather than the meaning of words.
The workshop will be led by poets Karri Kokko and Hanna Syrjämäki. The principles of asemic writing will be briefly introduced, and after the introduction, participants will be invited to produce visual poetry in any way they wish. The event is suitable for everyone, no previous experience is necessary. The event will take place in the Permantosali of the House of Text.
The cost of the workshop is 20 € for Nihil interit members and 25 € for others, including the cost of materials. The event is open to the public – you are free to come and observe the workshop during the event without admission.
