OAF takes over Kannusali!
The host of the “Pertti’s Choices” program on Radio Helsinki, Miika Turunen, has curated the OAF X Kannusali takeover together with Kalevi Helvetti. In addition to three amazing live shows, there will be DJ music at least by Miika, and Pertti Kurikka himself might also make an appearance behind the decks! Throughout the evening, we also celebrate the Kalevi Helvetti exhibition that is on display at Kannusali 24.8.-30.9.
Kalevi Helvetti & Emola-Hatsina String Band
Kalevi Helvetti is the alter ego of punk guitarist Pertti Kurikka, who has a worldwide reputation in among others the field of visual arts. Kalevi has published several music releases and a poetry book. In addition to this, Kalevi hosts drawing workshops and performs his stories live with various musicians. At Kannusali, Kalevi is accompanied by Emola-Hatsina String Band, an instrumental music duo consisting of Esa Kuloniemi and Antero Mentu. Their strongly underground-spirited music combines semi-acoustic avant guitar playing with electro noise.
Tarkkis
In the melodic and energetic Finnish language punk rock of Tarkkis, one can hear the tones of all four seasons. Singles such as “Smalltown GIrl” and “Yearning” with their realistic lyrics invite you to the dance floor, reaching even the most hardened punks. Their music conveys both the happier and darker aspects of life. The music of Tarkkis tells stories about lost love, yearning and the longing of youth, but also of joy, happiness and dancing, meanwhile never forgetting social commentary.
Tamara Luonto
Tamara Luonto has been making waves in the underground for years. Their debut album “Honeymoon” came out in 2023 on Humu Records. In addition to wonderful pop songs, the Tamara Luonto live experience provides a healthy portion of unpredictable situations and distortion. The fourpiece is bonded by rock, love and a hands-on approach to doing things.

Place: Kannusali, Bar Luola at Espoo. Kannusali is located in the underground Kannusillanmäki civil defence shelter, only a short walk from the Espoon keskus train station. The address of Kannusali is Kannusillankatu 4, 02770 Espoo.
