LIPGLOSSBOY

LIPGLOSSBOY

LIPGLOSSBOY is a performer, dancer, writer and a music producer. He works with memory pattern embodiment, digital otherness and trans cyborg dimensions. In his work everything starts from fantasies getting physical. In his art he states that fantasy is already true in itself and the division between fantasy and reality is fake. His performances combine dance, performance, poetry, sound and fashion, and they have been shown at Helsinki Music Hall, Kiasma Contemporary Art Museum’s URB-festival, New Fears Gallery (Berlin). His work has also been shown at VBKÖ Gallery in Wien, Club Kaiku, Helsinki City Museum and Kontula  Electronics-festival.

To the festival  LIPGLOSSBOY brings his performance RAT CITY that conveys a scenario where hyper metropolitan traits of rats have become a desired commodity. The once impure and diseased city rat is now the hottest trend, a gentrified consumer product, still exploited in the laboratories with an aim to find a cure for the human condition. The performance is based on movement and voice research embodying characteristics of a bio-cyborg chimera, a mix of human and rat in the year of a rat 2221.

Curators’ comments: “LIPGLOSSBOY is a distinctive-voiced, multidisciplinary artist whose work RAT CITY explores the outsider theme in a truly multifaceted way.”
