Shiwan has studied at Lahti folk high school’s theatre department, at The University of the Arts Helsinki and at the Academy of Moving People and Images. Right now, Kardo is interested in cultural research and corporeality.
At the festival Shiwan presents his first short movie FUR FUR. The movie explores the question if fur can have memory? The short film explores family memories, melancholy and intergenerational grief.
Curators’ comments: “FUR FUR is an atmospheric study of roots and family and the fusion of two cultures. Philosophical and reflective, the film zooms into a surprising little element – hair – and uses it to explore big themes. The film succeeds in conveying the author’s strong relationship with Finnish nature.”
