Mika Leminen, stage name MC Cepa, is a writer, rapper and leader of the rap band Cepan Maailma. In Cepan Maailma, Leminen writes the lyrics and other artists perform the songs. Leminen writes lyrical punchline rap at a very high level, combining 90’s rap word play with a modern trap sound. His lyrics have a battlerap attitude combined with braggadocio-style show off style, and there is also social commentary and satire in the songs. Leminen has written songs and performed with Paleface and Tiia Karoliina, among others.
Mika Leminen also has a strong literary background. In 2024, his essay En ole vammaisräppäri (“I am not a disabled rapper”) was published, which deals with Leminen’s musical development as an artist. The essay was published in the book Onko maailma valmis? Kirjoituksia taiteesta ja vammaisuudesta (“Is the world ready? Writings about art and disability”) by the Tilaa taiteilijuuteen project. In 2021, Leminen’s essay on disability and battlerap was published in the book Kuka kuuluu? — Kirjoituksia hiphopista ja feminismistä (“Who is being heard? — Writings on Hip Hop and Feminism), by the publisher Kosmos.
