In connection with the “Hei muuten” comic book exhibition, a live drawing performance will take place in the House of Text’s Permantosali on Tuesday 20.8. from 17:00 to 18:00.
The event will feature two of the artists of the “Hei muuten” project, Joannis Klementides and Riina Noro, as well as Miissa Rantanen, a comic artist and visual arts educator who has mentored the artists’ work.
In the live drawing performance, the artists’ work is filmed with a document camera and the image is projected onto a large canvas. The comic book artists improvise by drawing and the close-up of the camera captures the artist’s movements and the images left on the paper. In the performance, Klementides and Noro each take turns drawing, while Rantanen explains the background to the project and interviews the artists.
“Hei muuten” publication series bridges the gap that leaves artists with special needs
outside the comic book scene. The artists in the series are Joannis Clementides, Rosa Haikarainen, Anna-Stina Helander, Olli Kanninen, Maija Möttö, Riina Noro, Elias Pylvänäinen and Kenneth Wallenius bring you all bring something to the art and literature debate that has not been seen before.
