Hei muuten Comic Book Exhibition

“Hei muuten” comic book exhibition showcases the work of eight up-and-coming cartoonists with special needs.

“Hei muuten” is a series of comic books that brings together the debut albums of eight artists. The books have been made in supported art studios all over Finland: Studio Aula and the Vallila Art Studio of the Autism Foundation in Helsinki, at Taidepesula in Pieksämäki and in Ateljee Eivori in Porvoo.

from the comics scene. Artists Joannis Clementides, Rosa Haikarainen, Anna-Stina Helander, Olli Kanninen, Maija Möttö, Riina Noro, Elias Pylvänäinen and Kenneth Wallenius all bring something special to the art and literature scene that has not been seen before.

In addition to the artists’ comic albums, the exhibition also features large prints of their works and documentary videos of the artists and the process of making the works.

During the OAF opening weekend 15.8.-18.8. the exhibition will be open in the House of Text Kabinetti from Thursday to Saturday 16:00 – 02:00 and on Sunday 12:00-17:30. The exhibition will continue from Monday 19 August onwards, and can be visited during the opening hours of Bar tÿpo so, that if there are no meetings or other reservations in Kabinetti.

The artists’ work is mentored by Miissa Rantanen. The series has been made possible by Kone Foundation and the publication by Zum Teufel publishing house.
