The Outsider Art Festival takes over Töölönlahti on the Night of the Arts, August 20, 2026. Welcome to a hope-inspiring outsider art tour at Central Library Oodi, the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, and the Finnish National Theatre’s Lavaklubi.
We have compiled our top picks for the Night of the Arts below:
Central Library Oodi: MegOAFone & Toivon Sauna
- 16:00–18:00 MegOAFone (Oodi’s Canopy) A participatory, hope-inspiring art installation. Performers include shout poet EJH and MC Harakka, among others. There will also be an Open Mic session.
- 17:00–20:30 Toivon Sauna / Sauna of Hope (Oodi’s Kuutio) An interactive installation by Natalia Tong-Ochoa.
The Finnish National Opera and Ballet: Amfi & Main Foyer
- 16:00–20:00 Main Foyer In the OAF guides’ Encounters of Hope, the audience and artists share hope-inspiring thoughts.
- 18:00–20:00 Amfi A tribute to Park Drummer Jarmo. Communal trash can drumming and guest artists in honor of Jarmo.
- 18:00–20:00 On the route Oodi–Opera Dash Che: “One Day of Pekka’s Life”. The Night of the Arts is navigated by Dash Che with a performance featuring the drag character Pekka Suomalainen, delving into the core of Finnishness.
The Finnish National Theatre’s Lavaklubi: OAF X WSOY Literature Evening
- 19:00–22:00 Literature Evening and Live Music The evening’s program includes a poetry performance by DuvTeatern’s Ragnar Bengtström, the OAF Poetry Stage, and a gig by the band Nykypost.
