Outsider Art Festival starts tomorrow on the Night of the Arts at 17.8.2023! For ten days there will be a fantastic programme and great outsider artists all over Helsinki. Venues include the National Museum, Pertin Valinta, Oodi, HAM and the Huvila tent of Helsinki Festival.
On THURSDAY 17.8., the festival week kicks off with the OAF’s Night of the Arts programme as we take over the National Museum! The OAF’s official pre-party, the True Equality party will take place in the National Museum’s restaurant from 17-18.30. After the pre-party, the OAF Opening event will take place at the National Museum at 19:00 and continue until 22:00!
On Thursday, the OAF art exhibitions at both HAM and Pertti’s Choice will also open, and will be on display until the last day of the festival.
OAF Festival Info will open at the Oodi library on Thursday, where you can meet the festival guides and get information about the festival and its programme.
On FRIDAY 18.8. we will also be going out of town for the first OAF Talks programme, the opening of the exhibition at Pertti’s Choice Gallery from 15-17! At Pertti’s Choice you can meet the OAF’s international guests and the artists in the exhibition, and of course enjoy the art.
On SATURDAY 19.8. at Oodi’s Kino Regina there will be OAF Film Screening from 11.00-13.00! After watching the great there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers.
On SUNDAY 20.8. at the Helsinki Festival Huvila there will be a great live music experience when Kalle Salonen and his Hammond band will take to the stage at 19:00! After the three Hammond organ spectacle of Salonen-Gustavson-Gröhn, the legendary Tuomari Nurmio will take to the stage with his band Dumari and Spuget & Blosarit. Tickets 42€ (buy here)
