Mira Mink is a self-taught poet, writer, and producer of poetry events from Helsinki. For Mira Mink, writing and publishing are forms of therapy and art. Mink makes those accessible to others by deconstructing the forms into long-term writings, finished poems and word art texts. The artist wants to highlight freedom of speech and knowledge about women’s work. At the same time, Mink strives to promote reading and learning. Mink has organized several open mic events in libraries in order to encourage communities and participants. Mink’s video poems depict urban environments and nature, the natural and the opposites. The combination of texts and images is based on poetic works published by Mink, which have also been on display in Germany and Denmark. Mink’s most recent books are called Surun lyömät (2018), Oi oi rakkautta (2020), III Rakkaus & runot (2020, Taike), Äänikirjamaisesti I (2022, Taike).
Performances and discussions by the literature artists take place on Saturday 13.8. at 16.00 at HAM Corner and during the Night of the Arts on Thursday 18.8. at 16.00-17.00 at Radio Helsinki. More information:
